    Steel Wheel Balancing Question:

On a 66 steel wheel does it matter if the rim is "hub centered" or "lug centered" for the balancing process on a GSP9700 machine?

    Thank you,
    Ralph

    Ralph -

Corvette steel wheels are lug-centric - tell the technician if his book doesn't show that.

        Terry------

Well, let's put it this way: the rear spindle hub OD dimension for 1965-82 Corvettes is 2.778". The wheel center hole dimension for all 1965-82 Corvette wheels except 63-67 aluminum is 2.783". So, with this relationship, the hub is going to center the wheels whether or not the lugs do.

So with 0.005 clearance on the hub why are they not hub-centric?
