    Identify This Thermostat Housing. BB?

I have a cast iron housing and the only recognizable numbers are 6065 on the underside of the neck. What app is it?

Ray, I think all the BB housings were aluminum. Maybe wrong but I did some research on some BB housings and they were all aluminum. The experts here will tell you.

Thanx Dom, you're probably right although this came off a big block to the best of my knowledge but I still would like to know what it's for.

        Ray,
I was thinking C2 BB. It would help to know the year. I am not a expert but the SB cast iron housing is easy to spot. I cheat and go on line to licorvette and look at the pictures.

Most, but not all, big block thermostat housings were aluminum. Exceptions were 1965 L-78, 1966 L-72 with K-19, and 1967-69 L-88.

"6065" is not a GM part number or derivative thereof. However, vaguely, I seem to recall this number on some GM cast iron thermostat housings. If not, then it's an aftermarket housing. In any event, if you could post a picture perhaps we could tell you the application.
