I have a chance to purchase a L79 NOS cam 3863151. Is this the original piece for a correct L79 ? I looked back and the mid years used a different number. Thanks in advance. Jeff

GM #3863151 is the correct cam for ALL L-79, 1968 and otherwise.

If you can get 2 cams i'll take one. Are these still available with lifters and springs.

It doesn't make sense to buy a "NOS" camshaft when you can buy the exact same thing, built to the GM print, manufactured by Federal Mogul and/or Dana Corp, unless the NOS cam is the same price, but typically the asking price is as if an exact duplicate is not available from any other source.

OE type hydraulic lifters are also available from the same sources as are exact OE replacement valve springs, Sealed Power VS677, which are about a buck apiece.

All of the above can be purchased from NAPA or any other parts source that carries Sealed Power (Federal Mogul) and Clevite (Dana Corp.) brands.
