    Trailer Advice

I'm planning on using my trailer (enclosed 20 footer) to transport my 95 to Kansas with my 1/2 ton 2004 Titan. I've always pulled without issues throughout Florida, but I'm not sure how steep or challenging the highways/roads may be on the way to Kansas. My truck does have air bags and I use a weight distribution system, which helps keep things pretty level and steady. It (the trailer) also has electric brakes and my truck has a brake controller.

Maybe someone who's traveled those roads can chime in and give me some guidance. I will be traveling from Miami, Florida.

Would I be OK pulling through that part of the U.S.? I normally don't drive faster than 60 to 65 mph. Here are some pictures of my setup.

If you do not already have it, I would add a sway control arm. Takes some of the worry out of being passed by semis

      Re: Trailer Advice

Dick, I'll look into it. With my weight distribution bars, I get very little to no swaying when semis come by me. I'm more concerned with how hilly those roads may be and how would my truck respond to them.

      Thanks.

I would look at this route, probably the least amount of hills http://bit.ly/1jsNhCx I know you are in FL so I started the trip from JAX

          Ed,

Follow Dick's advice and get an anti-sway bar. Reduce your opportunity for problems.

Dallas to Overland Park, KS using I35 to Kansas Turnpike is longer, but a flatter uphill drive.

I would probably take a Southern route rather than tackle Mt Eagle thru Tennessee/Georgia.

I have taken this trip numerous times from Orlando towing using various routes. Quickest easiest way is up 75 following route Dick provided. Mt. Eagle is no big deal. Take your time going up and down and you are good to go.

Better yet drive the car and you won't have to worry about hills! I'm pretty sure the General built them to drive.

I got to thinking, a little quicker route, to me anyway, would be to take I-75 to I-64 W to St Louis, pickup I 70 to KC

If you are afraid of the hills and pulling capability, just shift to a lower gear.......

Thanks Dick. Any particular anti sway bar system your prefer? I'm looking at the Curt #17200, since my Wht. Dist. System is from Curt.

Thanks Dave. I'll have to Google what Mt. Eagle is because I have no idea.
