    57 Emergency Brake Flasher Bracket

57 Corvette Emergency Brake Flasher Bracket.jpg

Attached is a picture of my Emergency Brake Bracket. It is labeled John W. Hobbs Corporation Springfield IL.
It fits on my 57 OK but the relief for the EM Brake pin is on the right side, thus causing a collision between the pin on the EM Brake rod and the bracket when releasing the brake (relief needs to be on the left side). Can anyone tell me what this is for or where I can find a correct unit for my car? Thanks.

          Ed,

I have both emergency flasher brackets. I can't see why you couldn't cut the vertical tang off of one end on the non-Corvette bracket and weld it onto the opposite end. After comparing it looks to me like that would work.

Might be worth a try if a non-Corvette bracket could be bought cheap enough. JMTCW,

I am considering doing that if one doesn't turn up soon. Let me know if you run across one, I'll be happy to buy it from you, I'm ready for this issue to be behind me. Thanks for giving this your consideration.

              Ed,

The simplest option is to find a plug for the speedometer flasher light hole and forget about the emergency brake flasher.

I've not see a Corvette emergency brake flasher bracket for sale in years.

I took a passenger car bracket, cut it apart and welded it back in the correct configuration.
                  The change is undetectable.
