    Rustoleum paint

My helper found a rattle can paint that is unbelievable. Rustoleum Automotive Black Gloss. Also comes semi gloss, etc.
Don't pour the paint on. Just dust it and see the magic results. Flows out to show condition. Try it. JD

They "WERE" also making a right -on semi-flat up until a couple yrs. ago. Unfortunately , with the VOC laws the formula was changed.

          John,
Absolutly right, thats all I use on the A/C compressors I do. It does great on brackets and every thing else under the hood. I will say that it only does well out of the sun's rays. I used it on exposed parts and it oxidized. It holds it's selected gloss under the hood forever.
I am using Rustoliums engine enamel also with great results. Also their redish brown primer is great under the paint as it reduces the amount needed to get coverage. I have used the primer under engine enamel for years and heat does not effect it.

Not sure what is happening to No.: 7777 Rustoleum. This is "Satan Black". Getting harder to find now and wonder if the formula has
changed. This is a very popular paint with the restorers I know. Anybody know about this?? Larry

It changed for sure---Luckily , I ordered 3 cases before it did---should be a lifetime supply----

If it was "Satan Black" I'd change the name and formula too if I were them. I'd probably make it Satin Black, but that's just me.

                    Larry,
I found Rustolium satin black at the hardware store here in CA. I was told that the larger cans (not rattle) have changed their formula but the rattle cans are the old formula. That does not make production sence unless it is a state restriction on quantity being used.
We are not allowed to paint inside at the airport, has to be outside and has a limit of 1 gallon per day. My shop is on the airport.

One other positive with the paint is the ease with which it touches up and blends.

Really helpful when doing a body on type restoration piece meal.

Frederick You might want to check with them about shelf life. When I had a problem with their paint doing some wheels the first thing they asked for was the date code. Then told me old paint will sometimes crinkle up.Terrt

Neither -I found the satin to be right in between semi gloss and semi flat.
