I had the clock on my '67 rebuilt last winter by clockworks. Installed it in the spring. After a 50+ miles on smooth Michigan roads the minute hand came loose. The minute hand was loose when I sent it to clockworks. They installed a NOS clock mechanism. I have the clock out. Is there a trick to getting those hands on tightly and keeping them on? Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: 67 clock loose minute hand
John,
First I should tell you to send the clock back and have them fix it since that's what you paid for in the first place. But the added expense of shipping won't be worth it!
OK, anyway here is how to fix the minute hand. You must be careful with this method and only use a very small amount of "Super Glue". Open the clock up and take off the second hand. Just pull it off. Take a toothpick and blunt one end. Dip it in a drop Super Glue that you have put on a smooth surface such as glass. Make sure the hour hand and minute hand are in proper position and touch the toothpick where the minute hand touches the shaft. Replace the second hand by pushing down on the center. Don't get a lot on toothpick and you'll be fine!
