Re: 1954 Tunnel Repair for Floor Shifter

There repair is strong but it is just a seam - reason I V groove it - so you have a wide (wider) base of material on both sides....
The mat or cloth over the top is extra insurance - who knows maybe gets in and stands on it ?????
On this car - it is a cloth car (1953) - so I will go over the top of the seams with cloth - so it looks a little better.....

Here is the trans tunnel -Done
      Top side is done
I V grooved the seams - filled with Glasin - Sanded that seam down
Cut strips of cloth to cover the seams and give it some strength
      Then resin over that
You can also see a huge hole in the floor that I just finished
6 inches wide by 31 inches long (some one cut the floor - looking for a VIN number)
I sectioned it under the seat floor re-enforcement - no one will ever see it - plus the re-enforcement will add strength
Same process - but after the strips - I covered the entire floor with a piece of Cloth for strength
      Done
