    Rear storage compartment frame repair

My original rear storage compartment frame has a crack in one corner. Fortunately it is between two of the screws so it doesn't shift around. Does anyone know what kind of "glue" I can use to repair the crack and make it one piece again? Thanks in advance.

Kurt, I use two types, for the small crack type break I use Weld-On 2354, it's for the ABS and Styrene plastics. Real fluid and a small amount on each side or just let penetrate the crack and clamp. It dries fast and sets in a day or so. For the larger breaks, that require filling or build up, I use the Devon 22045 Plastic Welder. Did you see my thread on hinge color about using the aluminum strips ? Dale

Dale. I didn't see that post. I checked the archive and must have missed it. The crack I have is a clean break, so I guess the Weld-on should work. Can you make a suggestion where I might find the two adhesives you mention. Thanks.

I think both are on Amazon. The thread is close to this one right now. Dale

Kurt, I have some industrial adhesives that work pretty well on plastics. I picked them up at Carlisle. I'll bring them by so you can see if they work for you.

I have used Dyna-Weld for similar repairs. May I add that you may want to make a thin flat plastic piece from similar material to place on the underside. Use the Dyna-Weld between the frame and small piece then clamp together overnight. rough up both parts where needed and make sure they are squeaky clean.

I repaired my original cracked interior quarter covers using this method.
