Thank you for the picture. That one looks really good. But as it is too difficult to find a NOS one in that condition, I will also go for the one from Trim Parts. http://www.trimparts.com/part_detail...oZWFkPQ%3D%3D/

Thank you all for the help

    Rudy,

I looked at the Trim Parts emblem at an event and they looked excellent.

      Michael,

That's great to know, thank you. What is important to me is to buy American made products and no Chinese parts.

      Regards

      Rudy

Been a fan of '63's for a long time. Never saw any dum dum oozing out around the speed nuts holding the flags on. But what do I know. Maybe Jorjorian will chirp in on this.
Meanwhile those nuts are not that easy to find today. Now I don't keep up with all the repro parts so maybe they are being reproduced correctly. The hex speed nuts have little cut outs on the sides. Notches. Can't describe them properly but they are not just hardware items. Don't have any extras to show you as lost a bunch.

Good luck trying to swap out the nuts on the passenger side flag. I would like to have the ones that I dropped down inside the fender. Drivers side is a piece of cake.

So the repro flags now have the ivory color on the right side instead of white paint? if so I am impressed.
Nice pic of the NOS flag Michael. Very nice.

I'm not entirely sure that the side emblems ever had caulk under the nuts.

I know that hood mounted emblems on later years had the caulk though but just not sure on side emblems.
I just picked up an original set of 158's. They came wrapped in newspaper from 1991. All 4 speed nuts were on the back and they all had black dumdum in them. There is no way to prove if they are the original nuts but I just wanted to pass the info along.
