The black under the fuzzies is on the vinyl door trim panel . It was on STL. cars . I'm not sure about AOS. The black spray was on at least 63 through 65 .

St. Louis vs. AOS would make no difference - all door trim panels were installed at St. Louis; AOS bodies were delivered with no interior soft trim parts.

In an e-mail I got from Rich Mauser, he asked me a good question: Would the black tape under the fuzzies on the vinyl door panel be used or needed on a car with black door panels?

It's my understanding that the purpose of the black tape was to mask the vinyl door panel color, therefore no tape would be needed on a black door panel.

Makes sense GM would cover that up & I even remember the cheep black tape as seen in previous posts.
