    I vaguely remember that dealers were instructed to remove and replace the dymo tape with the new 2nd owners information at point of resale.

    If an original warranty book was lost in the 60's, the dealer (or zone office?) could replace it with an new unstamped version.
    As I recall, in 1968 the second-owner POP was created and supplied by Central Office, subsequent to receipt of a "Transfer of Warranty" application from the dealer; it had the full vehicle VIN, but NONE of the other powertrain codes (engine, trans, diff, etc.) that were on the original, plus the second owner's name and address, all stamped on the metal Addressograph plate, in the format shown below. Not sure how it was done for '67.

      John,

      you amaze me every time when I see some of the stuff you have. You are a true asset to the NCRS and the discussion board. As a foot note I will be taking the 65 fuelie to her first judging meet in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck.

        Here's a picture of the two Addressograph machine in the St Louis plant. One was used for the VIN tag and the other was used for the trim tag.

        I don't recall seeing the one that stamped the warranty book plate but I assume that it looked similar to these two.
