Casting date should be mid to late '68, or later, as these blocks started appearing in early December of 1968. Not used in any '67

Oops! When I see 512 in the number I am thinking of the 3963512 which is the 427 block

            Cecil------

I figure he must mean a 3963512. If so, that block was never originally used on a 1967. It first appeared in late 1969 and was used through 1971. Although it was used in late 1969 for 427 cid engines, it was primarily a 454 block.

Tim had it correct, 3904351 is the block used for a 1967 400 HP engine. This block was machined for both 2 and 4 bolt main cap applications. A 400 HP engine should use a 2 bolt main cap block.
