I just saw a video on u tube of Zoras only owned Corvette. The title is still in his name and the car has 35K on its clock. Does anyone know the cars history. It only sold for $27,000. That almost sounds like and insult to such and Icon as Zora when cars that Shelby had little or nothing to do with are selling for four times as much. What am I missing here?

Re: Zoras 89 corvette
You're not missing anything. The average price for similar 89 Corvettes is much less than that. The premium for Zora's ownership was recognized if not even inflated somewhat (i.e. the car sold for more than it should have).I just saw a video on u tube of Zoras only owned Corvette. Re: Zoras 89 corvette
I have to disagree. Vette-N-Vestments prices a 89 rag top in show ready condition at 24,500. A challenge race adds and additional 20,000. Surely the Godfather of the corvette personal car should be worth more than a standard well kept 89 ragtop or more than a challange car.- Top

Re: Zoras 89 corvette
I can tell you this for a fact. I'm not seeing any 89 convertibles in the 24500.00 range out here in the real world. I've been in it for a long time.
I do think the Zora car would bring a pretty good premium.

Don't believe everything you read especially car price guides. They are not worth the paper they are written on. Tom is right.I have to disagree. Re: Zoras 89 corvette
I have an extensive database of auction reports and since 2002 cannot find but a couple of instances that cars sold anywhere near the $24.5k. I think the car was well sold. Probably a $10k premium because of the prior ownerI have to disagree. Vette-N-Vestments prices a 89 rag top in show ready condition at 24,500. A challenge race adds and additional 20,000. Re: Zoras 89 corvette
I think part of the problem was it was sold at the Russo and Steele auction. If it was at B.J car it would of brought triple the price. I understand Zoras autograph alone sells for $50.00 and up. I dont know how true this is but I heard Shelby got $500.00 for his?- Top

Re: Zoras 89 corvette
I seriously doubt that. I don't know of any serious car collector that does not scan the catalogs of all auctions, and phone and computer bidding is allowed for absentee bidders. These guys always seem to keep up with the availability of cars of interest.
As Dick said, the car was "well sold". I'll explain what that means if you wish me to.- Top

Re: Zoras 89 corvette
Russo and Steele auctions command some very high prices also. Don't sell them short. I don't think there is 'nuff likker in the world to get that car to $80kI think part of the problem was it was sold at the Russo and Steele auction.
