I'm a new member, I hope this isn't a stupid question. I have a 1993, 40th anniversary edition, convertible. I won't to keep it original and would like to have it scored/judged. It needs tires. Does it matter which tires I put on it for judging? If so, what tires were on it originally?

Re: Tires?
Don,
First, welcome to the NCRS! Second, if you have not done so as yet, I would suggest you order the "Judging Reference Manual - Eight Edition (JRM)". This will provide you all the knowledge you need on the judging process. Second, I would suggest you also order the 1992-1993 TIM&JG. Both of these can be ordered through NCRS by clicking on NCRS SHOP above. Third, if you have not considered it, I would highly suggest you join a local NCRS chapter where you live. Get out and network with those folks.
Finally, here are the specs on your 1993 tires and what you need to "strive" and have on your car for judging purposes:
Front: Goodyear Eagle GSC, P255/40ZR-17 (base), P275/40ZR-17 (ZR-1)
Rear: Goodyear Eagle GSC, P285/40 ZR-17 (base), P315/35ZR-17 (ZR-1)
I do NOT believe these tires are currently available from Goodyear, but know folks have bought them from eBabe, etc. Again, the JRM will provide you insight into tires and deductions of the various options available to you.Rick Aleshire

... except if the 1993 was also equipped with RPO Z07. In that case, it had P275-40-17 at all four wheels. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

The Goodyear GS-C tires originally used for your car are no longer available and have not been available in quite some time. The only tire which Goodyear currently has available in the sizes to fit your car is the F1 GS-D3. Unfortunately, this tire has a tread pattern VERY unlike the original tires. Nonetheless, it is a Goodyear tire, as-original, so I believe you can garner some judging points on that basis. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Tires?
The Goodyear GSC tires were discontinued several years ago, and according to a big tire source in Texas, when they discontinued them Goodyear required all the dealers to return any they had in stock. I found this out after spending countless hours on eBay, google, this and that. I had all but given up, after about 3 months of searching, when I got lucky and found a set of original, non-run flat tires on the Corvette forum. I jumped on them. You can get the run flats from the Tire Rack. You'll take a hit for the run flats, but my guess is that you might have to resort to them, as I almost did. Even at that the hit for the run flats will be less than the hit for Michelins or another brand.Kurt Geis
