That is an interesting question, I suspect it might be like the '67 L71s, maybe even more than were ever built?

Still no way of telling if that is a REAL BIG BLOCK unless you have a build sheet ? I heard of BIG DOLLAR FAKE 427 CARS.

            L-88's

            1967 - 20
            1968 - 80
            1969 - 116

'back in the day (1967) I got a ride in a for real factory 1967 L-88. Nuthin' like it! Later we raced a built up L-88. Nuthin like it!

Of the original 216 built by St. Louis, all 587 have been accounted for.

And still no way to Prove they are Fake !!! Sounds like alot of people don't want to know if they're car is a real macoy. I remember my DAD buying cars not even 3 yrs. old with blown up Big Blocks! He would get a junkyard engine and stuff it in and sell them off. Lots of Big Blocks along the side of the garage.

You can fool some of the people some of the time --- but not all of the people all of the time.

I have my 66 roadster 427 L36 original protecto plate, knew both owners when I got it in 1978. THAT'S pretty good proof. And they built less 427 L36 roadster cars than any other big block midyear cars. Now that's how you know.

Having an NCRS verified tank sticker, plus previous owner testimony also gives me comfort. But if I were to buy one again, I would not take the chance upfront and want all this BEFORE I bought, just lucky I guess.
