I just saw a black 68 L88 convertible sell for a world record 800K plus 7% buyers fee at the Mecum Monterey auction today, amazing.

The car is the only black L88 convertible with its original engine and has great paperwork. It most definitely changed hands.

Really? Them L88 cars sure are expensive. How many of them things did they make? I don't think 68 L88s had smog pumps...did they?

Not so high when you consider the price of a '67 L-88 --- or how 'bout the L-88 snuck into Penske's '66 I'd trade everythin' but my dog for one of them things.

Gary, Buddy's Z16 Chevelle will be worth watching also - been a while since a real Z16 has traded hands other than private sale - not as rare as the L88 but close
