2013 corvette

The VIN is 1G1YS2DW4D5103043 on a 2013. Can any body tell when this car was built? I have been told that there are different production sequence numbering for the ZR1, the Z06, and still another for all other models. This VIN # belongs to a 2013 Grand Sport coupe. Again I am looking for the approximate build date. Thanks.

I believe there is a different VIN number sequence for all those you mentioned in your OP plus the Grand Sport.

Any GM parts department can find the build date, and a lot of other information, using a GM system called VIS: Vehicle Information System. That only works for GM vehicles built in the last ten years. Many parts departments will do this look-up for free; some will not do it at all for walk-ins. I have no idea if that is the system Larry used.

The Library & Archives at the NCM can also do that for any Bowling Green built Corvette, but I don't know if they do just "information searches." They will provide you for a fee with a window sticker and a build sheet, but AFAIK neither of those have a build date on them. In the course of producing those paper documents they can find the build date.

Isn't the build date shown on the options label in the glove box? Or on the door jamb?

They are but the car is on the dealers show room floor and all I had to work with last night was the VIN. Thanks for your input.

What is on the label is the month and year of build. Some of us would like a little more fine detail. Although nothing, short of actually being there will get you the exact time of day. My 2008 was off the line 10-11-07 at 7:45 AM.

I am not sure if I am interpreting correctly, but it does say "branded title no." if that means what I think it means you best ask some very pointed questions before any money changes hands.

That is the kind of information you can get from the VIS as I cited earlier.

Terry...I don't think Branded Title NO means what you think it means...

here's the same info from my 2012 Z06 which as you know was a sold order...(I have my VIS info from Day 1)

It's the vehicle info from VIS...vehicle information system.... any dealer has access. Branded title NO is a good thing. A title gets branded when a vehicle is salvaged by the insurance company, scrapped or it's repurchased by the manufacturer from the ocnsumer....
