65' telescopic steering horn button - removal

My 65' telescopic horn button is not lined up correctly (needs to be turned a full quarter turn to the right for the Chevy 'bow tie' to be level). Does anyone know how to remove it for re-alignment ? Thanks !!

    Gently pull it straight off.

David, both the 65 Shop Manual Supplement and the AIM show details of the telescoping wheel assembly. The Shop Manual Supplement provides step by step details, Section 9-3. Only special tool you will need is a wheel puller

The 1965-66 tele horn button has 3 spring fingers on the underside that snap over the horn button stand. There is a plastic insulator between the locking ring and the horn button. The insulator should have one slot about 1/4 inch wide visible from the top. Find the slot and insert a very-very small screw driver or similar tool into it and pop out the horn button.

I thought the button was "keyed" to only go on one way - not 100% sure. Good luck, Don H.
