I will take this journey one step at a time and see if I find success . I sure hope I don't have a wiped out cam.
I Can't comment as all my experience is with high-performance Point and standard ignitions systems, I'm of the old-fashoned "tricks are for Kids" thought pattern. I can work on a points car if it fails, and can look at the points to assess their condition. I can't do either with a "black Box" and I don't trust them as far as I can throw one (which is getting shorter every year as I age...)

Change out your fouled spark plugs.

Jim, If you are using NOS or SR Delco Remy points and condenser you might want to replace those with NAPA ones. John

Secondaries always looked fully opened when pedal depressed in the garage . Today I disconnected both left and right choke actuation rods , the throttle body and secondary linkage from the choke then took it out for a run.
WOW! It wound right up to 5000 rpm like it never had. I chickened out at 5000 grand and lifted.
Now I have a 327 solid lifter engine. Amazing sound !

thanks to all who posted suggestions for me. I will follow up on all as well. I even found a 60's vintage rotor cap on eBay!
Now I have to figure the choke / secondary linkage fix.

          Happy Fathers Day to all!

            Jim,

Get a 1963 Corvette service manual and you will find a section outlining in detail the Carter AFB carburetor adjustments including the choke secondary lock out which sounds like the problem from your description.
