    Fuel Pump Pressure

What should the normal fuel pressure be in PSI for mechanical pump?
I run a Carter mech pump on my BB and it runs at 7lbs PSI.
    Thanks All.

    Al,

Somewhere between 5 and 6 PSI. If the pressure get too high there is a chance the needle and seat could be over come but 7 is probably OK. I don't know if a big block pump carries higher pressure I doubt it but my figures are for a small block pump.
