Location of 71 Stingray emblems

I have searched the archives and cannot find some info on location of emblem mounting holes. I have the aim but the dimensions are refenced off lines that I cannot measure from. Can someone tell me some measurements based on distinct body lines. Is the emblem basically centered brtween the front and rear of the egg crate vent? How high from the top edge of the cutout fsor the egg crate grill? I have juste replace an already incorrect front end so I have no correct reference points to go from.

Sheldon,
The "Stingray" script is centered above the side louver opening edges. The ends of the Stingray script are each 5 inches from the louver opening edge. It is also 2 inches above the louver opening edge to the bottom of the letter g. Hope this helps.

Just to confirm the two inches is to the bottom of the tail on the letter G?

I have about a dozen of them (cars that is) here in Hampton at the National Convention, but no measuring tape. Any chance you live nearby?

From my 71. As far as I know, the front end glass is original but the car was painted (correct color) in the 80's. It is showing its age, but emblems should be in the right place.

It is hard to find any point of reference so I tried to reference everything from the top edge of the side vent.

So it's 2.5 inches from the "a" to the vent, and 5 inches on either side to the ends of the vent? Just making sure before I start drilling holes in my car!
