After reading discussions of "Shut Down" lyrics, maybe it is "shorts." If so, it's still one of those words you'd be embarrassed for someone if they used it in a sentence, like" That boss short sure is bitchin."Don't ruin my day by telling me John Fogarty is really singing "There's a bathroom on the right", though.
