My 66 is a July 66 build. My shifter is mounted to the transmission, but I believe it was supposed to have the frame bracket mounting. I realize that someone could have changed it in the past 47 years.
Looking at how it seems the shifter mount bracket attaches, it looks like it attaches in the front of the crossmember by one of the bolts that also holds the transmission support bracket. On the back side of the crossmember it looks like there should be a threaded hole in the crossmember or something. I haven't found a good picture yet, but was looking at the AIM.
There is not a hole, threaded or otherwise in my crossmember where it would seem that the bracket should attach.
Is there supposed to be a hole in the back side of the crossmember for the shifter bracket to mount to?
Thanks,
Don
