Can anyone offer advice on how to properly disconnect the vent window regulator from the window frame shaft? After removing the shaft to regulator pinch bolt and the 3 screws attaching the regulator to the frame, mine is now loose; but the regulator will not slide all the way down the shaft to disengage it. There appears to be a special, rectangular spring clip in the top of the die-cast regulator collar between the shaft and the collar where the shaft engages it. The clip is not mentioned in the service manual, and there does not appear to be a way to remove it. Perhaps it's just a spacer to take up any rotational looseness between the regulator die cast collar and the shaft, or is it some sort of locking device? I don't want to start prying on the slotted die cast collar or pounding on it for fear of breaking it (it appears to be very fragile, and no one is reproducing it). I'm not planning on rebuilding the regulator, just removing it so I can change the vent glass.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I did find a thin metal clip around the base of the "T" shaft. After removing it (hard to get it out) with a needle-nose pliers, the shaft to collar fit became much looser but still not enough for the 2 pieces to separate. After much "coaxing" with a small hammer & punch, it came apart. I also found the end of the "T" shaft around the slot to be deformed from the "squeeze" applied by the pinch bolt. That was the "thing" that was preventing easier removal.
