Looking for a Timing Chain Cover for 1960 270hp. Does one Timing Chain Cover fit all engine configurations or is there a unique Cover for the HP cars? GM Part number and pictures of the correct Cover would be helpful. Thank you.

The timing cover was GM #3704124. However, the number is not found on the cover and I doubt you'll find an NOS example (with this number on the box). These covers are not rare and can be found on many passenger cars of the period as well as Corvettes. All of the basic covers were the same; the differences lie in the timing pointer. However, I think all of these earlier covers were set up with a pointer for 6-1/8" balancersIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Does this look correct? It's the 290 HP version with a reproduction balancer.Attached Fileshttps://MichiganNCRS.org

Re: Correct Timing Chain Cover for 1960 270hp?
All that I have is the shape of the pitted timing cover tab in my 2nd photo. I can make out about 90% of the lines, the "0", and the "R". I can not see the "A" but I assume that it is there somewhere. The tab measures 1.19 and 0.88" in width.
Paragon makes a repro 56-67 tab which, in my opinion, looks like the 62-E64 tab.
