Something about my center arm rest in my 63 SWC has always bugged me. The armrest was off center to the driver's side of the transmissin hump. I always figured I would lossen the bolts/screws and adjust it to the center but when I tried, I found out that the hole for the pin on the armrest was drilled offset. No adjustment could be made. Is this the way they all are?

Re: 63 arm rest
Perry, Are you talking about the dowel on the rest its self? or where the bolt in front goes? I know that mine is dead center. so if the problem is metal base then they do repro that part.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 63 arm rest
Perry can you drill another hole next to it? since the carpet covers the hole it should not be seen. really not much else you can do. that plate behind seat and arm rest is spot welded. or the another possiblity is to relocate the pin. maybe remove dowel and relocate the dowel, just use a 3/16 sloted screw and a nut to lock in place.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 63 arm rest
A previous owner may have replaced the luggage stop panel (which has the dowel hole in it) to cure a floor sag problem and didn't center it correctly when re-riveting it.- Top
