Brian, there are gaskets on both sides.

But it looks like the core mount plate gets sandwiched between the two gaskets. One on the heater box then the plate goes on then on the other side of the plate gets a gasket and that goes against the inside of the firewall and no gasket on the outside. That's wrong?

Brain, if we are talking about the fiberglass boxes inside compartment and the box in the engine compartment there is a gasket on perimeter of each box.

          Brian -

The core plate and the core arrived at St. Louis as part of the heater assembly from Harrison; the gaskets shown in the A.I.M. are external to the core plate.

            Ed & John,

Thank you both very much. The last time the core was installed, Buba had glued a gasket to each side of the core plate. That's what confused me.

As I see it, the round tube seals are not used on the 66, right?

Also the foam seal on the inside of the car (that has reliefs cut into it) is just glued to the box over the outside, right?

            Thanks again!!!!

The round core pipe foam seals are '63-only. The large C-shaped foam seal goes on the heater box first, then the inner rectangular seal.
