I seem to recall that there was an article on this in the Restorer also, but I'm not sure about that.

How bad is the grille? I just did mine and took out the minor scratches by hand with a polishing compound> The painted portion was in good shape. My suggestion is to do an awful lot of masking and match the gray paint in flat. It's pretty simple to do, just takes a lot of time.

Pitting is your biggest roadblock. Richard Fortier has the original mask used for painting and has restored 3 66/67 grills for me. I couldn't be happier with the results.
