When assembling the rear 4 leaf springs does the two banding clips go towards the front of the car and one in the rear? Thanks Pat McPherson

Re: c1 rear springs
Do the cut edges of the banding point towards the center line of the car or away from the centerline?Keith MacRae

Re: c1 rear springs
Keith, I'm no expert on this, but just guessing I'd say the orientation was probably random if they were done by hand or all the same direction if done in a fixture (most likely). Suggest contacting the Team Leader for the year in which you're interested for guidance. Maybe this will bump it up for some add'l comment.- Top

Re: c1 rear springs
So, any of you recognize this kind of banding that was on my springs? PS. The dates match the build date of the car so I have no doubt that they are the original springs. We're any C1s banded in this manner?IMG_2420.JPGKeith MacRae

Re: c1 rear springs
Does anyone have a reference measurement I can use to tell if the springs I just picked up are "saggy"? If I were to lay them on the floor, eyelets on the ground, arch up and measured from the ground to the top of the arch, what should I measure?
Right now I measure 6" from the floor to the top of the arch. These springs have no liners between the leafs (why, I have no idea) so with liners it may be closer to 6.25".
Am I saggy??

Dale Pearman's notes on that subject said that a properly-arched C1 spring would measure 5-1/2" to 5-3/4" from a straight line between the eye centers down to the top of the main leaf.- Top
