Steven.
The 2013 60th anniv edition vette runs like a scalded dog; it is the best corvette I have ever owned. Everyone should have one; get one while you can.
Remember it's only money; you could get it back by working, ha. I have over 4500 miles on it...my theory, "is if u got 'em, drive 'em"...and I do. It won best
vette in two local shows; got me $100 cash; what a vette...I only need to win $9x,xxx.xx more and I'll have my money back. Life is good.
Merry ChristmasDr. George

Re: FI modified as a tunnel ram on flea. Never saw one like this.
Guys;
Who was the guy that put two air meters on the 380 FI units, back in the mid 60's? I just about went for one of those setups for my 65 Fueler. All that was in my way was money, which I didn't have of at the time. It sure looked cool back then.
Let me know if anyone knows.
Thanks.

California hot rodder Bill Thomas (builder of the Cheetah) used to advertise the dual air meter conversion in Hot Rod and other magazines during the sixties. Several of his Cheetahs were raced with these conversions. One of the original Grand Sports (prior to the wide tire & wheel well flare package) was also raced during the 1963 competition season with a dual air meter FI system. Some good photos of this Grand Sport can be found in the "Star Spangled Sports Car" coffee table book.- Top

Decades ago I stayed at the same "inn" as one of the Gulf engineers at Elkhart Lake for the Can Am. After buying him a few beers Thursday evening we became his guests for the weekeng. He was responsible for velocity stack tuning for the McClaren Team. He told us that Gulf had a couple of dual meter Rochester units in the lab but had stopped development when Chevy stopped FI availability. He said at the time Gulf and Thomas had traded info.- Top
