65 Coupe , Vent Window Repair

The drivers side vent window on my 65 coupe has a broken hinge. The small right angle tab that's spot welded to the window frame has broken at the bend. I thought I would just locate another frame, install my glass and go. It isn't that easy. Just finding a good used frame is tough enough but if you can find a usable one the price is outrageous. Is there anyone out there who repairs these frames? How about a good source for a new or restored part. Rich

Contact Virginia Vettes. They are a supporting vendor on the "other forum". Go to that site for a link, or "google" the name for contact information. They do this repair.

Paragon may be another source for repair.......but not completely sure on this.

Rich, I just received the new tabs (upper and lower) and rivet from LIC. The installation process is to remove the frame, remove the old broken tab and old rivet. Then spot weld the new lower portion on the frame. You may need to re-seat the rivets in the upper tab or replace it with new rivets if that is bent also. Then install the new swivel rivet to attach the lower tab to the upper tab. It is just a very labor intensive process.

        Good Luck
