Ignition Coil

I have an old Delco Remy coil, embossed "238" "B-R", which I'd like to use as a backup. Can anyone tell me what it was originally used in, if it used an external ballast, and if possible, what the internal resistance is.

Here's what's shown in the P&A era catalogs for service.

1969 Rev July'69 Chevrolet, incl. Corvette:
'67-'69 1115238 All, Corvette -----w/1.3 Ohm wire, stamped 238_BR
(compare to) 1115202, '68-'69 All, exc. T. Ign --- w/1.8 Ohm wire, stamped 202-12V

My Jan '70 P&A30 (Corvette only):
the 238 is the same for '67-'70
the 202 is Corvette '55-70 w/12 volt (exc. T.Ign) w/1.8 Ohm wire

My 1967 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs, incl. the Corvette (April & July 1967) lists GM # 1115238 for the following:
67 PASS. (8 cyl.)(exc. P.G.).

My 1968 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1967) and 1969 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1968), incl. the Corvette list GM # 1115238 for the following:
67-68 PASS. (8 cyl.)

Apparently no Corvette application in 1967 and 1968 according to the 1967, 1968, and 1969 parts catalogs.

My 1968 Corvair-Chevy II-Chevelle-Camaro Parts Catalog (July 1968) lists GM # 1115238 for the following:
67 CHEVY II, CHEVELLE, CAMARO (8 cyl.) (exc. 302, 396, H/Per.)
68 CHEVELLE, CAMARO
description: COIL, Ignition w/1.3 ohm (stamped 238-BR)

The GM #1115238 coil eventually became the SERVICE coil for all 1967-74 Corvette standard ignition applications.
