I don't have huge experience at this, my BC/CC cars have been done with DuPont (I used to work for DuPont so was a bit prejudiced
, but I liked the paint jobs), but my '67 was done in acrylic lacquer (as original as possible) and the paint man told me only PPG makes it properly like original. My Rally Red doesn't have any metallic, as far as I can see and as far as I know, looks pretty good except it is lacquer, prone to all the problems of that old fashioned paint, like swirl marks, softness, and easily chipped by rocks, etc. Not sure about what the paint guy said about the rarity of acrylic lacquer, just repeating what he told me several years ago, not sure about today.
