    Bill,

So your panels have the eyelets crimped into the panels and no separate cone shaped washers? Do your screw have the smaller heads as in the picture I posted above?

    Thanks,

    Don.

I did not order the Al Knoch door panels with cone washers crimped into place. I vaguely recall that option was only available with the deluxe door panels. The separate cone washers are the same, just not crimped into place. I could have probably figured out a way to crimp them into place, but once the screws are installed, can't tell that they are not crimped.

I included a photo of one of my screws/cone washers in an earlier post so you can compare. I believe your screw head looks a little smaller than mine based on the amount of cone washer exposed on your photo.

The heads of the screw are definitely smaller than a standard #8 screw. I think they are refered to as '#8 x length x 6D'. I'm assuming the 6D signifies they have a smaller head. Or at least that's how the place I referenced above has them listed.

I saw a similar listing with "#8 x length with #6 undersized head. I did not install a long screw in the upper left hole; used one of the shorter screws. I only installed one long screw in the upper right (front) part of the door panel.

The AIM calls for two of the same screws in the upper right and upper left sections of the door panels or trim panels as AIM calls them.

            Don:

My car is all apart. I have a box full of door panel fasteners. I do have some crimped eyelets in the panels but also some loose cone washers. I also have some #8 with the #6 head on them; strange looking. I also have #8 with a normal head. I don't know where they were installed.
