This past winter I went through the front end of my car. I doing so I replaced the engine mounts with repro's as a precaution. I have one of those darn Tipped fans used with car that have A/C. On the way back from, or to, Carlisle the fan hit the frame. Fortunately not bad, the fan is OK, 4 tips just needed an "adjustment".
I planned on adding an additional shim, the "V" type, to raise the engine. After I added the shim I noticed the rubber on the mounts was squeezed out to the point that it took effort to put the socket on the lower bolt. Is it normal for the rubber to squeeze out like that on original or repro's?? Thanks!!
