You need an AC type 40083 fuel pump. This pump has been continuously available from 1964 until the present day from GM/AC-Delco. However, it's configuration has changed somewhat over the years. So, even though you can still buy one new, it's not exactly the same as the one originally installed on your car. One feature that has changed over the years is the bottom plate of the pump. If I recall correctly, the originals had a convex, stamped steel bottom plate.
The 40083 is a screw-type, rebuildable pump. So, if you can locate an original, used pump, you can rebuild it like new. Where to get one? The Driveline ads would probably be a good place to start. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1964 Fuel Pump
Original 40083 was unique in that it used a magnesium casting for the top as opposed to the normal "pot metal" zinc die castings used on most pumps. Very noticeable by the dark color that the magnesium acquires given exposure to air over time. Also the inlet and outlet are 180 degrees from each other as opposed to the configuration used on most pumps for lower HP applications. Also "40083" stamped on the outer edge of the flange.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 1964 Fuel Pump
I have had two 40083 pumps over the years, one was stamped "40083" and one was stamped "40083 IJ" (Sept. 1970). The 2-letter stamped date coding started about 1965 and the Fall of 1964 for some AC pumps (example "4657 LD" dated Dec. 1964). For your 1964 you want the "40083" pump.
