I have a roadster 427/400 HP A/C car with PowerGlide tranny. Do they have a radiator drain tank? I pretty sure they do not however I was wondering if not why not? My car has just got back on the road after 35 years of restoration. After I returned from a break in ride the cooling system burped and I got thinking what if this happens when in traffic? I installed a new Radiator cap to see if that helps. Thanks for reading.

Your radiator should have a brass hex plug (early cars) or a brass petcock (later cars) near the bottom of the driver's side tank. See your Assembly Manual, section L36, sheet A5, View "C", item #8.- Top

John I think he is talking about a over flow tank. if so then the answer is no. GM did not use over flow tanks in 67. if you have the coolant level correct and all the variables correct for the cooling system it should never puke- Top

How big of a burp was it and a description of what happened and where would help. I lost most all of my coolant when a thermostat stuck closed and the resulting overheated coolant puked out of the overflow as the cap did it's job.

John-----
The only 1967 Corvettes that had a radiator SUPPLY TANK were all small blocks and L-88 big block. No others, at all.
Prior to 1973 no Corvette was originally equipped with a radiator RECOVERY TANK.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 BB 400HP/AC car Radiator catch tank
I have a 67 coupe 427/390 that I bought new. From new, after a drive, a few minutes after shut down it would puke coolant, even with the coolant at correct level. I got tired of adding coolant, so after awhile, I used a windshield washer bottle as a overflow tank. Works great.- Top
