Best Wishes to Mr. Anton for a complete and speedy recovery. I can appreciate the tough road he and his loved ones have ahead of them and will keep them in my thoughts.

Dave or Ken - As representatives of the Arizona Chapter, maybe you could start a new thread to let other members know this isn't "just another new story", but one that hits a little closer to home. Others might want to offer well wishes that you could eventually pass on to Jim and his family. Just a thought.

Some folks--not even knowing he was a member--wished him well already. His experience shows us all life is precious.

I wish him and the other driver the best for a full recovery. Cars can be replaced, people can not.

          Guys...

You are right that a rear end collision on a midyear is very dangerous. This Corvette was stopped when it got hit by the pickup in the photo, and spun around 180 degrees. Jim emerged from the car with his clothes on fire...word of witnesses tell the story of possible texting by the PU driver.

There has been an email sent to the Arizona membership concerning this accident. The Arizona chapter has also sent a card to the family, in addition to the one Dave P referenced from the judging event last Saturday.

The family has requested privacy, but I believe that cards would be welcome. Let me check on it!

Here is the update I promised.

For those who wish to send cards to Jim Anton, a member of the Arizona Chapter, here is the address to use:

            927 E. Curry Road
            Tempe, AZ 85281

The following are emails that have been sent in...

To all our family and friends:

We don't really have much to update since our last email, but realizing there are some new names to the list, we did want to let you know that Jim is doing as well as can be expected.

They continue to do the surgeries working on the dead skin and preparing him for grafts down the road. He is tolerating the surgeries well. The doctors think he will keep his vision and hearing.

He will continue to be in a medically-induced sleep while the procedures continue and the doctors and nurses watch his vitals carefully to make sure he is not in pain. It will be a several months long process.

Many of you have generously offered to help in any way possible. For those of you who are able, we would ask that you consider donating blood. Although it may not be going directly to Jim, blood is essential for burn victims and Jim is using a lot of it. If you can help replenish the banks, that would be wonderful.

Anyone interested in Jim's fight to survive this horrid accident can reply to jimantonupdates@gmail.com and ask to be put on the list. Feel free to pass this note on to anyone who is interested. Jim needs all our prayers and good thoughts we can muster to get though this.

Thanks to all the NCRS members!

            Dave
