      Re: Who knows the answers??

Sorry for changing the OP but If the specs that you provided ( clem ) are valve grinding specs it looks like 340HP and 360HP are the same but different than 300HP which would be contrary to what Joe posted as 300 and 340HP valves being the same...see I said this wasn't easy :-)

looks like the 300HP 1.945/1.505 stayed the same in 1962,63 and 64 and in 1964 the solid lifter engines went to 2.026/1.605

the reason the NHRA specs are .005 bigger than what in normally quoted is because the valve size could be checked hot and they could be expanded.

As clem mentioned, the 2.02/1.60 valve size was first used for the 1964 model year. Those sizes were used for L-76 and L-84. For 1965-68, the L-79 also received the 2.02/1.60 valves. Later on the L-46, LT-1. and L-82 engines used the 2.02/1.60.

For 1962-63 all engines used the 1.94/1.50 valve size except the base 250 hp engine. That engine used 1.72/1.50 valve size.

1977. Just about the time that 8 tracks were passe and cassettes had about taken over the market, GM started installing 8 tracks.

Yep...And they changed the dash to accept standard GM radio. I think CB followed in 78...I had a 78 SA with a CB, never worked worth a damn the car got stolen in 1980 and was never recovered . When I joined NCRS a few months ago that made my membership number was easy to remember.
