Re: stamp pad general judging questions

I have been told that most if not all of the tools used to make these cars were distroyed by GM. That would include the stamping tools. SO to do a stamp today, it would be with tools that are "somewhat" different (and these could be very small differences). Thus tools today could be similar, but not exactly like orginal, and there must be ways to tell the difference. T

This is so typical of these type threads. Anthony asked how to assign points. He didn't ask...how can you tell, what makes the people that make these decisions so smart, are the fonts different today than they were then, etc. He simply asked how to assign points if it is a factory grindout with a rebuilders stamp involved.

Along comes a complete idiot (me) and simply answers the question(s) posed. The result is typical...panties start getting bunched and the original premise of the thread gets lost. Although I'm a moron, one day I'm going to learn to stay away from these emotional subjects that always sends certain people over the edge.

In the future, I would hope I would leave it to you guys that I never see at the meets but instead want to sit on your computers and be taught...even though some already know everything.

      Oh yeah...have a nice day.

Stamp pads are incredibly emotional issues since we all have so many deep scars about them

Suggest looking at Judging Reference Manual Section 4. It is all spelled out step by step. There are NO partial deduction of each phase of the step by step process. It's all or nothing process. If everything in the process was OK and it also had additionial info stamp from a rebuilder, I don't see where you could assess a deduction unless it obscured one of the factory stamps.
