62 rear end

My rear end back case has indent on right side facing front.
Is this correct?

Roger, Not sure what you are trying to say. Can you post a picture? Tom Parsons has posted a number of pictures on rear assemblies. you may want to search.

GARY, THANKS, I'M REFERENCE TO THE INDENT ON THE LEFT SIDE FACING THE REAR, AS IN PHOTO #2.

Would the picture be an "early" 62 rear with the drain plug in the bottom? Later units have no drain plug.

Sorry I should've stated the back photo is from a 57-8 rearend. Was intent on showing the indenture. Couldn't find the back photo of the '62 unit.

On C1's, the ratio code (and assembly date) are stamped on the right sideof the pumpkin, on the as-cast surface that faces forward.
