2013 NCRS California Road Tour to Hampton, VA

We are looking for a California Road Tour leader for 2013. Glorie and Art McNay have done a wonderful job for many years. We very much appreciate all there devotion to many successful Road Tours. All good things come to pass and it is now is the time to look for a new leader of the California RT. If you would like to further explore this opportunity, please drop us a note.

Sounds like a great "Last Night Out" location.

Actually it's the night before the "Last Night Out"

I remember a rustic motel in Cumberland some years back. We could call it second from the last night out.
          You be the cook?

Lots of rustic motels in Cumberland, one on the corner of Mason Rd NE where the farm is...another across the highway...another up Beford Rd about a mile...but I think the organizers are looking at one of the Choice Hotel chain hotels that's much newer and up to date...I will not be the cook as I'll be on the road tour in my Z06 and couldn't possibly pack the food for everyone...and I'd have to come in two days early to shop & prep if I was to cook everything at the farm...

Sounds like fun, but Virginny is way too far from home to be driving.

Michael, The 2012 NCRS RT saw us put 10,080 Kilometers on our 2000 C5. Twenty days on the road with some old friends and some new ones.
In 1994 at the Seven Springs NCRS National, Zora stated. " What are all these trailers doing here? The Corvettes are made to be driven!

I wasn't thinking about the car, I was thinking about me after 8 days and 4000 miles of driving to and from. And frankly, since there are no mountains between here and there (except the first 100 miles), it will be a pretty boring drive with no places to test out a ZR1 suspension and supercharger.....

You might want to ask Roy Sinor about the lack of places to test a ZR1. He didn't have much trouble between Oklahoma and North Carolina.

I am not sure where Roy's encounter took place. Ask him. There is the road called "The Tail of the Dragon" that I think might be on your route, or at least not far off. Maybe Scott will drag the Road Tour there.

Good, and it would be nice for the tour from Cali to Virginnie would actually come through NM. The one last time to San Diego from Yankeeland (probably should say "East Coast") didn't, I guess. Not sure why they avoided us, we have members and lots of 'Vettes here too.

Michael, I am looking for someone to lead a RT from CA or close enough that other members from California can join up at your location. Are you interested?

I am interested, but my schedule that far ahead is too problematic. I am not even sure I want to, or can, go to the National that far away. Might be better to have a Cali guy or gal do it. But if one is organized, I would like to participate if my schedule permits and my hip pointers get better so I can sit in the saddle for longer periods....
