color / paint on 71 wiper arms

Hi guys

What is the color / paint of the wiper arms fora 71?

Mine has over-spray from a previous bad paint job so I cant tell. They look to be in OK shape other than having to replace one of the spring pins.

Any ideas?

The wiper arms on early C3s are not painted. They were originally plated before the arms were assembled. As I recall from the print there was three different plating operations, depending on the material involved. If you are interested in going to that length, I can look for the print. The end result was a dark (mostly black) dull non-reflective finish. Perhaps someone here has successfully mimicked the finish with paint and will offer their technique.

Did the washer fluid tube and it's soldered attachment to the wiper arm receive that plating operation too?

Regarding refinishing, what do most do to restore the wiper arms? Is there a suitable paint to touch up if the finish is not too badly gone but needs some attention?
