OK, hear's a good one: my 63's volt meter goes crazy at 2800 RPMs. It Jumps rapidly from discharge to charge. I'm guessing this is an alternator problem, but I'm looking for some help with this, so any opinions would be welcome.

Re: 63 Alternator issue?
Mike,
I would take the alternator and voltage regulator to a old fashion repair shop that rebuilds these parts and have them tested. It will take you three times longer to take them off then have them tested.
The shop will spin the alternator at different rpm's and you will know for sure if there is a problem with either of these two parts.- Top

Mike,
One more thing, if you have the original #512 voltage regulator don't let it out of your sight even if it's bad..- Top
