    You're correct. However, I don't like "living on the edge".

    Incidentally, the part involved is not an o-ring. It is the bellows component of the waterpump seal.

      Only one fan on my 2008, and I don't know when it kicks on -- but at 230 the AC goes off, and outside air is ducted into the cabin.

      I will have to look up the 1995 Caprice. I think the secondary fan comes on at over 230 on that one.

        attached is a cross sectional drawing for a JC Type 1 seal - one of the most common and oldest - you will note the o-ring in the cross sectional on the seat (which would be ceramic or ni-resist for hot water) and the bellows ( the dark "Z" part) in front of the spring on the rotary head - yea I know way more info then anyone asked for and not really relevant to the original issue of this post !
