    Denso W14P-U plugs

Anybody know where I can purchase these nonresistor extended tip plugs? The resistor version is available but Denso has discontinued this non resistor version. Found 6 on Amazon, but need 2 more-none on flea bay.
    Thanks,

    How about these: http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/w14p-u.html

I have a '67 L79 also. Are these "THE" plugs to use in your opinion?

        Re: Denso W14P-U plugs

Geez, I'm really sorry guys; I bought 8 from a guy in Canada. and he said he was sick and tired of dealing with the drama, so he sold me the rest of his inventory for $.50 per plug. I have enough for my cars, so I am open to selling a couple of sets for a reasonable price. I am not looking to screw over anyone, so the prices will be reasonable.

        PM me.

          Re: Denso W14P-U plugs

I'm interested in these Denso plugs since they are non resistor and in my experience, L79's need a good spark to get to redline without a miss. Duke also likes the U groove electrode; so I thought I's try to find some. Do others think the resistor veersion of this plug or other resistor brands such as AC R45S (extened tip which is in engine now-Denso also extended tip) are just as good? Am I working too hard to find a nonresistor plug?

If you can find W14-U, which is a non projected tip plug and equivalent to the AC 45, why not use them. Also, the NGK B4 is equivalent to the Denso W14-U and AC 45.

Dennis,Let me know what you want for them and I'll buy a set. I also sent you an e-mail on same subject.

                Duke,
Don't you not think the extended tip design offers better non fouling properties? I run a mixture of leaded race gas (I know, I know, but my engine has close to actual 11:1 compression) and non ethanol 93 pump gas; so, I'm going to get more chance of fouling due to lead. That's why I want the extended tip-your thoughts?
                Thanks

                  Re: Denso W14P-U plugs

As long as you stick with the equivalent of AC heat range 5, I don't think there will be any difference between the normal tip and extended tip as far as fouling is concerned.

The L-79 has a very lazy centrifugal curve and 93 PON = 98 RON, so I question your need for leaded race gas. Have you tried straight 93 PON pump gas and tested for detonation?

                      Re: Denso W14P-U plugs

Unfortunately, Dennis's were the non extended tip version. Anybody know where to get W14P-U extended tip plugs? Accell #8170(same as their 137) looks like a Denso W14P-U but cross references to a 44 heat rqange. Their #138 jumps to a 46 cross reference heat range. Anybody used either of these Accel plugs? If choice between a nonresistor nonextended tip vs resistor extended tip plug in 45 heat range on an 11:1 compression L79, which would you choose?
                      Thanks

I'm morally opposed to using anything named Denso in my 67 Corvette.....have same AC 45's in car for over ten years and it runs fine..
