Hey Robert, Welcome to the wonderful world of vettes. I'm about 35 min. from you but I don't think I'll be much help in finding a shp. I like to do things myself.

I was out near you a couple of weeks ago in my '72 along with my brother-in-law in his '69, we went to Love Lane for breakfast. A shame we didn't run into each other. Perhaps we will in the future. Good luck!!!

Hello Lynn and thanks for the welcome. It seems like everything is at least 35 minutes for where we live! I guess that's one of the reasons we live here. We live within walking distance of Love Lane and go there on a daily basis to pick up our mail etc. My wife said she saw a pair of early C-3's so maybe our paths have already crossed. It looks like you Corvette is a Steel Cities Gray - same as my '71. If you are planning on doing the Laurel Lake Cruise in early November, I'll almost certainly be there and we can compare stories.

      Hope to meet you soon,

      Robert

Re: Eastern Long Island, NY Corvette Specialist

Thank you to all of you who took the time to respond to my query. Your passion for Corvettes and willingness to help were overwhelming. What a warm and wonderful welcome to an incredible group of knowledgeable people. I look forward to meeting many of you in the near future. In the meantime, I have several possibilities for the basic work I'd like done locally and several options for places a bit further away for more complicated work. Now that I've learned a little bit about how the discussion board works, I hope I'll be more of a presence.

Thanks again to all and enjoy the driving season!

        Robert

Most likely that was us, the 'yellow '69 was my brother-in-law's and mine was the other. Not Steel Cities Grey though, it's Pewter Silver. A shame we didn't see you about an hour later, we got stuck. My brother-in-law's fan went through the radiator before we got out of Mattituck, very messy. Haven't had the car out in a while but since the weather is supposed to be good tomorrow I'm hoping to get out that way for a run. Weather permitting we'll be at Laural Lake. Have fun!!
