67 paint the way the General did it

I had an opportunity to take some photos of a low mileage (documented less than 10,000) 1967 and thought I share some of them.

I have alot of photos I can post and may be able to take others.... Let me know if you would like a specific area of the car.

Great pictures. I can't believe all that slopped on glue!

      Dan,

If you have any pictures of the underside of the hood or the rear fascia area, that would be great!!

      These are excellent!!

I double dog dare anybody to paint one like that. I'll give anyone here a crisp 5 dollar bill if they'll smear the weatherstrip glue on like that on the next 67 435 they do a body off on.

I will do my best on dads 67 L36, M35, C60 once it comes back from the body shop

I am painting/freshening up a '65 coupe for ncrs judging. Any other pictures you could post would be helpful to me.

                Daniel,

Great photos, please post more (as many as the server can handle would be good!).

Some shots of the engine bay and firewall would be great, underside of the hood (the blackout paint-line across the rear and down the sides, and particularly up front near the hinges and across the underside of the front). Do you have any pictures of the back side of the fender vents, is there any body color visible on the engine bay side?

                Thanks very much for posting,

                Scott

                  Piper,
Five bucks doesn't sound very tempting !
When St Louis applied the glue it was clear.
If I do it like St Louis I'm wondering how you'd verify its been applied sloppy?
Does it have to be a 67 to collect the 5 bucks?

Good point JunkY Master B but, my superior pilot's eyes can easily see things others can't...as long as I have my glasses...and a large magnifying glass...and a monocular lense.

That looks typical. Little or no coverage on the bottom of the doors and light spray in other areas.

I agree with RJ. I hope no one thinks the weather strip adhesive looked like that when new.

I would love to see some pictures that shows the difference in reflectiveness of the paint below the beltline vs. above it.

                          Mark,
Being a pilot myself, I'll bet if they can get the car in a BAR it will look a lot better as that was where the pilot's eye ransformed ugly into beauty.

Wow, such sloppy and inept type work and assembly. I am sure glad they don't make junk like this anymore.

Here are some additional photos. Sorry, I don't have any of the hood.

Driver side hood hinge. Note the overspray pattern behind the hinge on the inner fender

Rear exhaust panel. The center bolt was installed during paint (no color behind the loosened bolt)

Inside of passenger side front fender. There doesn't appear to be any body color overspray but there is red primer
