Re: What Happened To The Wave

There are people who just buy a Corvette not knowing anything about the car or its history and there are the Corvette enthusiasts. Corvette enthusiasts wave, the others don’t. Just less enthusiasts out there now.

Actually, I get more waves from bikes and old muscle cars - often when I least expect it. Last week it was an older Dodge or Plymouth with a dual scoop hood in primer and 2-60 A/C - (2 windows down @ 60+ MPH). Stu Fox
I wave to all classic cars I see, but I sometimes don't recognize the newer vettes till it's too late.

I posted this true story on CF a while ago as it seems pretty extreme.

I think the following tops most anything..

Couple of months ago I was cruising on a freeway in the '66 but there were no cars in front or behind me..... from the mirror I see a bright yellow sports car gaining on me, as he gets closer, I recognize it's a newer vette...cool I thought, as he passes me I stick my hand out the window, turn & smile.....the 20-something male driver never even looks at me, his female passenger is looking sheepishly at me with a little smile which becomes bigger as we lock eye balls....he's then gone in a flash.....

I'm imagining the conversation in that yellow vette as follows...

HE- "Don't look at him, he's an old stuck-up rich guy who's trying to be our age again."

SHE- "Gee, he didn't seem that way at all, he smiled & waved at us."

SHE- "In fact, I wish I was in his car & he was driving me to his house to do naughty things to my tight young body"......(OK, maybe she didn't say that part)

That still happens where I live in the Adirondacks, with a short break for summer, till the "summer type flatlanders" go home!

All these C-5 and C-6 owners are interested in is a Hat, a Mat and a T-shirt! They are Corvette owners and not Corvette Enthusiasts! They are interested in belonging to a club and the next club event! If you want to be a real hot shot, you buy a Grand Sport or a ZO-6!

Don't get me wrong! "There is nothing wrong with that"!!!!!!
